Pretty ugly coin. Why the hell is only the 'fireball' polished? The rabbits and the tiger the two years before where completely polished and this one looks pretty poor compared to the two years before. So where are the 'hours of hand-finishing' ???

The way I read it Stefan was that the hours of hand finishing was not yet started (photo was straight off the press) :)

Would be great to get another photo of a 'ready to ship' 10kg Dragon coin so we can compare...

It says hours of hand-finishing WILL BE REQUIRED BEFORE the coin can be released.

Meaning.....it's NOT ready in the picture, DOH.

Hi Stephen, I'd like to reply to Mr.Steffan L.

It's a shame you didn't read the caption Mr. Steffan L. which says:

"A 10kg Australian Lunar 2012 Year of the Dragon silver bullion coin comes off the press at The Perth Mint today. Hours of hand-finishing will be required before the coin can be released."

Obviously your eye-sight is hindering your ability to read and also view this magnificent 10kg coin! :) lol  Don't forget your glasses next time!  (Joke)

In all seriousness, I think the 10kg Dragon is absolutely stunning and with a mint to order mintage of no more than 500 coins, each coin is unique due to the individual attention they receive from the craftsman at Perth.

Here's a video of the smallest silver bullion dragon coin (1/2oz) which I found on youtube; perhaps a similar video of the 10kg coin could be made by Perth, to show us once and for all the true beauty of the coin.

Anyway, I think Perth make the best coins in the world and fwiw, it seems that there's many collectors and investors that have the same thoughts according to consumer demand.

Keep up the great work Perth!

    Kind regards

    Stefan L. says:

Well, I appreciate your concerns, but unlike you I already have this coins and see that IT IS FINISHED. Only the 'fireball' is all shiny and the whole dragon is not whereas the last the years I see the tiger and the rabbits all shiny.

PM, why didn't you produce the whole dragon shiny and polished??

Stephen, are there any images available of that finished coin?

I'd love to see a few shots as I'm sure plenty of collectors would.

    Thanks Stephen.

    That's awesome....a 10 kilo gold and a 10 kilo silver.

Wow! I'll look forward to that. :)
