Perth Mint Unveils 2012 Australian Kookaburra Silver Bullion Coin Series

PERTH The Perth Mint today unveiled the 2012 Australian Kookaburra silver bullion coin series.
These magnificent coins portray a kookaburra sitting on a tree branch amid eucalypt leaves. The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and 2012 year-date are included in the reverse design. The obverse of each coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Struck from 1kg, 10oz and 1oz of 99.9% of silver, each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
Only 500,000 1oz coins will be released. No mintage limit applies to 1kg and 10oz coins.
