NOTES - All identification documents must be certified/notarised copies of originals and must be current (passports may be less than two years expired). If any of the foreign documents are written in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by an English translation prepared by an accredited translator. |

1. CUSTOMER IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS FOR Australian individuals - via Australia post
Individuals are required to provide identification which details
their full name, date of birth and current residential address. You will
need to present the following documents along with a pre-completed Australia Post - Perth Mint Identity Verification Form at any participating Australia Post branch. This
Identity Verification form should be printed at the completion of the
on-screen registration process by clicking on the link Download your Identity Verification Form. Australia Post provides this customer identification service on behalf of The Perth Mint. There is no cost for this service.
Your Identity Document Requirements
You
MUST present ONE primary document from the list below containing a
photo and your current residential address. If it does not contain your
photo or current address you must also supply one secondary document
that contains the missing information.
Primary Identification Documents:
- Australian Driver Licence or Learner Permit (current)
- Australian Passport (current or expired within the last 2 years)
- International Passport (current)
- Proof of Age Card - SA, TAS, VIC (current and government issued)
- NSW Photo Card (current and government issued)
- Centrelink Pension Card (current)
- Australian Birth Certificate (not an extract)
- Australian Citizenship Certificate
Secondary Identification Documents with Residential Address:
- Utility
Bill (less than three months old) issued by a government body or
utilities provider for provision of services (rates, electricity, gas,
water) containing the name of the individual and current residential
address as the supply address
- Taxation Notice or Centrelink Statement (less than 12 months old)
How to lodge your ID Verification at Australia Post
- Download
and print your Identity Verification Form at completion of the
on-screen registration process. You can log on at any time to retrieve
the form.
- Lodge your form & identification documents at
any participating post office. To find the nearest participating outlet,
please go to auspost.com.au/pol and select Bank@Post or call 13 13 18;
- Your signature must be witnessed by the Australia Post verifier;
- Identification documents MUST be presented and be ORIGINAL;
- Your
completed ID Verification will be submitted to The Perth Mint by
Australia Post and your registration approved, usually on the following
business day. There is no cost.
2. Customer Identification Documents For INDIVIDUALS OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA
Overseas individuals seeking to purchase bullion online are required to provide identification which details:
- Full name,
- Date of birth
- Current residential address
- Includes a photograph
Two primary identification documents are required for verification purposes. One must be a primary photographic identification document and one must show current residential address. Both documents must be certified/notarized confirming that they are true copies of the originals.
The preferred primary photographic identification documents are:
- Passport containing photograph and signature
- National Identity Card containing photograph
- Driver’s License containing a photograph and /or signature.
If only one of the above documents is available, then two of the following must be provided:
- Birth certificate, and
- Current utilities account from electricity/gas/water/rates provider containing the name of the individual and current residential address. The supply address on the utility bill must match the clients residential address.
All documents must be certified/notarized and current (passports may be less than two years expired). If any of the above documents are written in a language other than English, they must be accompanied by an English translation prepared by an accredited translator.
3. Customer Identification Documents For Companies
Companies are required to provide corporate identification documents which include the business registration details, names of directors, and for private companies, the details of shareholders.
For Australian registered companies please provide
certified copies of:
- ASIC Company Statement; and
- ASIC Certificate of Incorporation; and
- Two (2) identification documents required for the Director/Office Holder nominated to operate the account required from the list in Section 1. One document containing photograph, date of birth and signature and one containing current residential address. Australia Post ID Verification cannot be used.
For foreign registered companies in Australia please provide
certified copies of:
- Certificate of company registration issued by the relevant company registration body: and
- A company statement including a listing of directors, and for private companies; a listing of shareholders; and
- Two (2) identification documents required for the Director/Office Holder nominated to operate the account required from the list in Section 1. One document containing photograph, date of birth and signature and one containing current residential address. Australia Post ID Verification cannot be used.
4. Customer Identification Documents For Trusts and Trustees / SUPERANNUATION FUNDS / PARTNERSHIPS
Trusts are required to provide identification documents for both the Trust and the Trustee nominated to operate the account. Please provide
certified copies of:
- Trust Deed (first page and last few pages with the name and signature of the Trustee(s)), and
- If the Trustee is an individual, two (2) identification documents required from the list in Section 1. One document containing photograph, date of birth and signature and one containing current residential address. Australia Post ID Verification cannot be used, or
- If the Trustee is a company, then please provide corporate identification documents as per Section 3, plus the individual identification documents as detailed above for the Director / Office Holder nominated to operate the account.

6. Customer Identification Documents For Overseas Countries Not Listed in Section 2
